Ann Ramsey Music - Original Americana + Anglo-Celtic Twist
Ann Ramsey is a Delaware-based singer-songwriter specializing in acoustic folk music. She adores history, often setting her songs in unusual times and places. Ann is remarkable for her accomplished fingerstyle guitar playing, and is often credited for her uniquely atmospheric “raw folk” sound, full-throated vocals, and musically adventurous approach to songwriting. She enjoys discovering the right melodies, tunings and meters that will ensconce the listener in the unfolding stories of her songs.
Ann played her debut solo set at the 2025 Philadelphia Folk Festival. She performs at acoustic events, house concerts, and intimate clubs in the Mid-Atlantic. She was awarded Artist Opportunity grants for FY 2023 & 2025 by the Delaware Division of the Arts. Her debut album, Gallowglass, won a 2025 Homey Award (Delaware Public Radio) for instrumentation. Produced by Kyle Swartzwelder, Gallowglass released in October, 2025, and made the top 40 that month on folk radio charts. A reviewer wrote, “Gallowglass is traditional, yet completely original in its sound, making it a perfect fit for a contemporary audience.”
Ann is currently in the finals for the 2026 Delmarva Folk Festival “Folk Hero” contest, taking place on the main stage of the festival, October 16, 2026. November will find her participating in the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) annual conference in Albany, New York. She’s also returning to the recording studio, working on tracks for her second album.
